The 2017 Race at the Rock may have been a cold, gray, and little rainy day, but the atmosphere was full of fun, joy and excitement as we gathered together for a 1mile walk, 1 mile Kids Fun run and a 5K run to support the mission of Flat Rock Homes, Care Center and Community Services.
We made some changes, this year after much contemplation. Some these we had been thinking about and others were out of “a moment of necessity”. However, with it all we are pleased to report that the end result was greater than we even expected. We want to say THANK YOU to all who joined us whether you walked, ran, or cheered on those who did. Your presence and participation made the event a fabulous success!! And, to those who could not join us physically, we THANK YOU for your prayers and financial sponsorship of the many walkers and runners who participated this year.
Speaking of sponsors, please let me express our sincere gratitude to the following group of commercial sponsors who helped to make this years race possible:
The Alpha Group, The Bellevue Hospital, First National Bank, Health Management Systems, Janotta & Herner, Academy Graphics Communication, All Covered, Bennett’s Computerized Novelties, Cooper Top Bake Shop, Ebenezer United Methodist Church – Flat Rock, OH, Home Savings, Houge’s Grocery Store,Fremont Elite Runners Club, Manbeck, Caputo & Pifer Financial Services, and Northern Ohio Cut Stone.
It is because of the continued support of this event by the sponsors (commercial and friends/family) and the participants, that we are able to carry out our mission to serve all those who have been entrusted into our care.
We have had many comments of praise and some suggestions for future races which we will look at as we begin to plan for the 2018 Race at the Rock. Thank you again for your faithful friendship and support to Flat Rock Homes, Care Center and Community Services. See you next year the RACE at the ROCK!!!
The mission of Flat Rock Homes is to provide outstanding services which transform lives of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families and persons with critical needs through a dedication to caring and excellence that demonstrates Christian values.
