The 2009 Quilt Auction was held at the Wadsworth United Methodist Church. With the help of extremely talented quilters, volunteers and friends we raised more than $16,000, a new record for the agency! Many thanks to Nancy Mohr, Elaine and Wayne Asper, Ginny Schlayer and the quilters from Wadsworth UMC and Copley UMC who donated their time and talent. We also would like to thank the countless other quilters who care so deeply for the mission and ministry of Flat Rock Homes.
Every other year, Flat Rock Homes holds a quilt auction, with the gracious help and support of United Methodist Churches and United Methodist Women's quilting groups as well as quilters from throughout the state. The event has raised more than $65,000 for individuals and their families served by Flat Rock Homes since it was started in 2001.
Each year it is held, a local United Methodist Church hosts and helps promote the event. The event is always very special because it combines the time-honored traditions of quilting and the compassion of the people who participate with a desire to bring more to the individuals of Flat Rock Homes.
The 2009 Flat Rock Homes Quilt Auction is being held at Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad Street. A live auction, silent auction and performance by the Flat Rock Care Center Children's Choir add to the fun and excitement of this wonderful community event.
If you, your church group, or your quilting circle would like to donate a quilt for the 2011 event, please contact Amanda Nicol, assistant director of development
