Christmas 2015

The 2015 Christmas season is underway at Flat Rock Homes! It started with our annual Kiwanis Christmas Party where the Bellevue Kiwanis Club (along with Mr. & Mrs. Claus of course) surprised our individuals at the Care Center with gifts.

It will continue next week with our annual Community Services Christmas Party hosted by Vermilion Grace UMC where all of our Community Services individuals will gather together for a meal, share in Christmas caroling and will, of course, receive their Christmas presents. The Care Center house parties will carry on through the following weeks with each house having its own Christmas party.

We are always overwhelmed by the love shown to our individuals during the Christmas season. This year, we had more churches than ever before graciously “adopt” Flat Rock for Christmas. This gave us such peace to know that our individuals were receiving exactly what they asked for this Christmas.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the individual donors, churches and groups who donated gift(s) to Flat Rock Homes and/or donated their time to help wrap Christmas presents this year. A special thank you to the Bellevue Kiwanis Club, Garfield Memorial UMC, Wellington UMC, Good Shepherd (Parma) UMC, Orville Trinity UMC and Westlake UMC for their willingness to “adopt” Flat Rock as a part of their Christmas mission outreach. We would also like to thank Scioto UMC, and the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus Church for their time to visit Flat Rock and help wrap the hundreds of Christmas gifts that need to be wrapped each year.

I wish I could capture the joy, the smiles and the laughter from our individuals as they open their Christmas presents every year and share it with you because that joy and love is what sharing the joy and love of Christ’s birth is all about.

We are blessed at Flat Rock because of your kindness. Thank you for helping make Christmas merry and bright for our individuals.

We wish a very merry and blessed Christmas to you and yours as you celebrate Christmas!
