Summary:
Provide daily hygiene care, active treatment, and training in independent living skills to individuals who are developmentally disabled and receiving services in the residential treatment facility. Follow policies and procedures for implementing Individual Program Plan goals and behavioral interventions as part of the support team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement active treatment program according to policies and procedures of agency, and within regulations and guidelines of state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Implement Individual Program Plans (IPP) and observe and accurately document residents’ progress of these plans. Participate in team process for assessment and goal development.
- Teach daily living skills and personal hygiene skills such as bathing and dressing, to enable residents to perform daily self-care practices.
- Teach daily living skills such as money usage and cooking skills to enhance independence.
- Follow behavior intervention strategies with emphasis on verbal redirection. Appropriate intervention techniques may include manual holds when there is imminent risk of harm to prevent injury to residents and others.
- Participate in delegated nursing program for medication distribution under the guidance of trained personnel in accordance with the self-administration assessment and the nursing plan.
- Perform basic personal health care needs according to the Individual Program Plan (IPP) or at the direction of medical personnel. Respond to medical emergencies with appropriate treatment as trained.
- Reinforce positive interaction observed and promote positive social interaction with others.
- Serve and participate in meals with residents as per IPP. Ensure specialized diets are implemented and the appropriate use of all assistive devices necessary for resident therapeutic needs.
- Accompany residents on shopping trips; and counsel and assist residents in purchase of personal items.
- Assist in therapeutic activities, such as physical, leisure, and recreational games, sports, or crafts.
- Assist in implementation of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and all other therapeutic goals in collaboration with appropriate therapists.
- Attend religious services and activities with residents on and off-campus and assist them in participating in these events.
- Transport residents to activities, appointments, day programs, etc., using agency vehicles. This may include emergency transports and rural, metropolitan, and interstate driving.
- Perform daily housecleaning tasks within houses and in accordance with the housecleaning checklist. Perform daily laundry tasks to ensure that all residents have appropriate and clean clothing. Awake night shift has special responsibility for cleaning and laundry.
- Provide direct care for any resident as needed or determined by the QIDP, nurse or supervisor.
Required to attend all in-services and training sessions; is responsible for completing all mandatory training by the deadline, including online training. Required to complete first aid and CPR training, as scheduled.
Expected to interact with staff and residents in a positive, professional manner.

You choose if you would like to pay yourself up to 4 times in a two-week period rather than wait for the bi weekly paycheck.
You choose if you want to work OT, or work a straight 40 hour week shift based on which Direct Support Professional position you choose!
- Unlimited Overtime: $20.00 an hour!
- 64 hours a week: $18.52 an hour!
- 56 hours a week: $17.79 an hour!
- 40 hours a week: $16.00 an hour!
- Part Time: $16.00/hr
Any hours you work on the weekend has an added $1.00 an hour! (Weekends = Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays)
Any hours you work in excess of 40 hours in a week is paid at one and a half times your rate of pay!

Eligible candidates will be at least 18 yrs old and have a high school diploma/GED (But if you don't have a diploma or GED, we are able to hire you via a waiver with the state so please don't let this stop you!). There are aspects of driving our company vehicles while working with our individuals therefore for most of our positions it's preferable that you have an Ohio Driver's License with less than 6 points and no more than 2 moving violations. If you do not meet that driving requirement please let us know and do not let this stop you from applying. We conduct a post-offer pre-employment screening that will include completing a driving record check, and criminal background checks among other checks. We are a drug-free workplace.
