FLAT ROCK HOMES, CARE CENTER, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES PRESIDENT/CEO ELECTED TO POSITION ON UNITED METHODIST ASSOCIATION BOARD

FLAT ROCK, OH- (March 2021) Karen Kilgo, President and CEO of Flat Rock Homes, Care Center, and Community Services was elected to the secretary position on the United Methodist Association’s Board of Directors for a term starting in April of 2021. Karen adds this to her long list of memberships, community involvement, and other board positions.

Kilgo has served as the President and CEO of Flat Rock Homes, Care Center, and Community Services since June of 2016. Previously, she spent 13 years leading Christian City, a non-profit ministry in Union City, Georgia. While in Georgia, she was active in the lay leadership of McDonough First United Methodist Church while serving on many committees, boards, and teaching adult Sunday School. Since moving to Ohio, she has joined Norwalk First United Methodist Church where she is a member of the United Methodist Women and the church’s finance committee.

Professionally, Kilgo earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Berry College and a Master of Science in Education/Human Resources Development from Georgia State University, both in Georgia. She has also been recognized many times for her professional experience in Human Resources.

In addition to continuing her service with the UMA board, Kilgo serves as a member of the Health and Welfare Committee, on the Board of Directors for the Values and Faith Alliance, as the Community Representative to the Board’s Strategic Planning Committee for Kendal at Oberlin, a member of the Board of Mission, leader of the DisAbilities Awareness Team for the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, and much more.
