Flat Rock Now Provides Non-Medical Transportation
We are excited to announce that Flat Rock is expanding our services to provide non-medical transportation to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the surrounding community.
The need for reliable, quality non-medical transportation for individuals with I/DD is apparent. In an effort to meet this need, the Flat Rock Board of Directors has approved this initiative as a part of The Campaign for the Future of Flat Rock.
Flat Rock Homes has always been committed to ensuring maximum community integration and quality of life for all intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals. This service will help individuals with developmental disabilities in the surrounding communities get to and from work, grocery shopping and many other daily activities which require access to transportation.
The Flat Rock transport fleet only utilizes the highest quality passenger vans, which are maintained to impeccable standards. This includes performing detailed annual inspections and mandatory daily “pre-trip” inspections. All Flat Rock vehicles are fully ADA compliant and some are wheel chair accessible. Plus all our vehicles have two-way mobile devices and are equipped with first-aid supplies. In addition to the driver, our vans are staffed with a trained support staff person to assist in passenger comfort and safety.
Ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers is important to us.
All our drivers are required to complete a defensive driving course. And, in addition to being certified in CPR and first-aid, all our drivers must take courses and be certified in “Passenger Assistance Training.”
We look forward to continuing our dedication to excellence in providing a full range of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and invite you to support this strategic initiative to The Campaign for the Future of Flat Rock by making an online donation.
