Flat Rock Prepares for 2016-2017 School Year
As summer ends, our residents are anticipating a busy fall schedule as they prepare to return to school. Soon they will transition from days filled with field trips to local parks, swimming pools or to enjoy a ball game to attend school again.
At Flat Rock Education Center, our students build valuable life and vocational skills, such as doing laundry, washing dishes and building bolt boards, while also developing critical social skills building lifelong friendships. As our children prepare to go back to school, we ask that you prayerfully consider making a gift to Flat Rock Homes to support the continued education, vocational-skill building and critical therapies our individuals need.
The older I get, the faster time seems to fly by. It may seem hard to believe, however, Cory* and Sean* are preparing for their final year at Flat Rock Education Center. They are part of the Class of 2017. Cory* And Sean* are residents of Flat Rock Care Center and collectively, we have watched them grow in our care, celebrated their successes and held their hand in moments of need. 
While we may change the lives of our individuals, it is our lives that are forever transformed by our individuals.
Throughout the years, Cory* has taught us what true friendship means. When one of Cory’s* housemates and dear friends became seriously ill, Cory* visited her after school every day. Each day Cory would visit and be present in spirit, holding her friend’s hand, sharing stories of the day. After her friend passed away, Cory and her housemates were at peace because of the time they spent together.
We are humbled each day by Cory*, Sean* and all of our individuals as they show us the truest meaning of friendship and the love of Christ.
