July-September News

Fall is in the air here at Flat Rock and we’re looking forward to all the festivities at the fall and winter seasons bring.

This week (September 9-14) we are celebrating our Direct Support Professionals! We appreciate them every single day, but this week is about them! They work so incredibly hard every day to help those that we serve in the Care Center and Community Services that they deserve so much more than we can give them. Their heart shows through the work they do every day. Head to our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter page and let them know how much you appreciate them!

If you or our group wants to donate towards the costs of this most festive time of year, you can do so via our website or send donations with the notation of “Christmas.” Any access donations will be used toward our continued mission here at Flat Rock.

General Announcements

This week we will be dedicating the Rev. Dr. Valerie Stultz Staff Room. Rev. Dr. Stultz was on our board here at Flat Rock for many years. She believed that our Direct Support Professionals needed a space to take a break from the demanding and high-stress job they take on every day. “We give thanks for Valerie and the work she did as a part of the Flat Rock Board. We are grateful for her vision and leadership in this important area. She is missed by all of us at Flat Rock, but, through this new space, we can continue to remember her for many years to come” says President/CEO Karen Kilgo. We look forward to the dedication this week and check back for updates.

Items we need

We are need of bed pillows and twin bed sheet sets! We go through these pretty quickly and for 34 people the cost adds up. Any color will do.

Thank you to everyone in the community who helps us at Flat Rock Homes. We appreciate your donations, time, and prayers more than you could know. And as always, for the most up to date information check our website at and all of our social media at @FlatRockHomes.
