This year, students enrolled in the Nursing Program at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Firelands campus will be spending time at Flat Rock Care Center!

Through the efforts of Flat Rock’s Director of Nursing, Lisa Hart and the Program Director at BGSU Firelands, nursing students will spend time this semester shadowing Flat Rock nurses. During their time at Flat Rock, students will have the opportunity to observe med passes, read Individual Program Plan’s (I.P.P) and spend time with our individuals. This will prepare them for their career so that they can provide the best care when serving person(s) with intellectual and developmental disabilities and provides them with a holistic view of care.

This is the second year of this wonderful partnership with BGSU Firelands Nursing Program. After the first year, one of the nursing students worked at Flat Rock over the summer and still this year, one of the nursing students is a former Flat Rock employee .

Flat Rock is blessed by this partnership and looks forward to many more years of partnering with this nursing program.
