Flat Rock was thrilled to welcomed Reach Out 2015 to the Care Center campus July 15-16, 2015!

This year, the Reach Out mission team helped with a wide variety of projects including, painting a handicap ramp for on of our community homes, landscaping and organizing historical information. The mission team also got spend time with our residents helping with crafts, going on a bike ride with them, shooting hoops in the gym and through many other activities.

At the end of their stay at Flat Rock, staff had the opportunity to meet with the campers to discuss what they got out of their week at Flat Rock. One of the camper remarked that they could see Christ reflected in the faces of our residents. Flat Rock looks forward to welcoming Reach Out 2016 next summer.

In previous years, Reach Out mission teams have helped to install sensory equipment, which plays a critical role in the therapy and care we provide to our residents and have assisted in the upkeep of our nearly 500 acre campus.

Reach Out is a youth-led summer camp of the East Ohio Conference. The camp is focused on Christian action and small group Bible study. As the camp is gathers in Lakeside, OH at the start of the week, the youth discover who their mission team is. The teams then partner with area ministries to complete two-day mission projects during the week. Flat Rock has been blessed by their presence for the past 7 years that they have joined us in Christian ministry.
