Summer is Here!- June 2018

Summer is in full swing! Our individuals were outside this morning before it got too hot playing with sidewalk chalk and enjoying the sun. It’s always great to see how happy the summer makes everyone.

Event Information

Giving Tuesday is coming up again! November 27, 2018 is the day! We will be announcing our goal for this year in September, so make sure you follow us on social media to be the first to know.

We’re beginning the preparations for our biennial quilt auction! Coming in the fall of 2019, we will have quilts, tied comforters, wall hangings, and so much more to offer. Keep an eye out for our date and location announcement!

General Announcements

The Prayer Shawl group for Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in East Canton handmade blankets and quilts for all of our residents. The residents were filled with joy when they received their personalized gift, and we couldn’t be more appreciative that their group thought of us.

We are in need of the cardboard centers of paper towels and toilet paper, as well as old jewelry (costume is fine). Our Adult Day Program participants are working on some upcycling projects for the Seneca County Family Fun Night in August. If you have any to donate, you can either ship them to us or bring them out to the address below.

Items we need and Volunteer Opportunities

We are looking for donations of sunscreen and outdoor activities (bubbles, sidewalk chalk, etc) to help our residents enjoy the summer weather.

We have a few groups that have volunteered to host donation drives for us, but we are always looking for more! If you’re interested, email mlarkin@flatrockhomes.org for more information.

Thank you to everyone in the community who helps us at Flat Rock Homes. We appreciate your donations, time, and prayers more than you could know. And as always, for the most up to date information check our website at www.flatrockhomes.org and all of our social media at @FlatRockHomes.
