The Beginning of 2019: Newsletter
This is the first newsletter of 2019 and we’ve had a ton going on here at Flat Rock Homes, Care Center, and Community Services! We’ve been gearing up for all that 2019 has to bring us here in Flat Rock!
Accomplishments
Our EAGLE reaccreditation site visit was last month and we’re looking forward to hearing back about all the hard work that we put in.
Event Information
Wrap-Ups
Our #GivingTuesday campaign was another incredibly successful year! We were able to finish out the furniture fund we started in 2017. The furniture arrived and is receiving rave reviews from the folks in the Care Center. Without our generous donors, this never could have happened this quickly. Thank you all!
Christmas, though it seems so long passed, was just a couple of short months ago. We loved seeing all of the joy on the faces of the folks we serve through the Care Center and Community Services. This year, we had every single gift donated! It truly was a blessing to be able to spread love this holiday season.
Upcoming
The Dick Parks Memorial Race at the Rock will be on May 4, 2019! Sign up is live on our website for the 5K race, the 1-mile walk, and the Kids Fun Run. If you aren’t the athletic type but would like a shirt that is also an option on the website. For more information on the race and this year’s name change, click HERE
The 2019 Quilt Auction is coming on November 16, 2019! This year, we’ve partnered with and will be hosted by Strongsville United Methodist Church. Do you have a quilt you’d like to donate or have questions about the event? Email development@flatrockhomes.org.
Mark your calendars! #GivingTuesday 2019 is December 3rd! Make sure to follow our social media pages to find out information first.
Items we need and Volunteer Opportunities
We’ve already started to schedule our summer mission teams! If your group or class would like to volunteer, email mlarkin@flatrockhomes.org and we’ll get started setting up a time!
As the warmer weather slowly starts creeping in, we will be in need of sunscreen and other outdoor activities for our folks. We are also in need of bed pillows and twin sized bed sheets. Donations can be sent directly to us or dropped off at the Care Center during regular business hours.
Thank you to everyone in the community who helps us at Flat Rock Homes. We appreciate your donations, time, and prayers more than you could know. And as always, for the most up to date information check our website at www.flatrockhomes.org and all of our social media at @FlatRockHomes.
