Christian Life
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
Flat Rock holds a strong covenant relationship with the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. This covenant binds us in our connection with the church and guides all of our decision-making processes. Our covenant ensures we continue to offer life-affirming, Christ-centered activities for our individuals.
While Sunday morning worship is important to our program, we strive to help our individuals build a deeper relationship with Christ. Our chaplain partners with our program team to offer weekly Christian Empowerment, Worship and the Word for our residents and staff. Through music, scripture, video, and self-expression, our individuals have the opportunity to understand Jesus in their lives and learn their value in Christ’s world. The foundational scripture for Christian Empowerment is found in Psalms 139:14, “ I will give thanks and praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are your works, And my soul knows it very well.”
Our chaplain and well-trained staff are available to help individuals work through difficult life issues such as losing loved ones, bullying, or adapting to a new environment.
Together, with the help of the church, we can overcome challenges with compassion and spiritual support, allowing individuals to truly understand that they are children of God.
